Hectic schedule marks fruitful Middle East visit

29 Nov 2022

Tractebel CEO Philippe Van Troeye embarked on a dense round of meetings in the Middle East which achieved multiple goals.

From November 7-11, Tractebel CEO, Philippe Van Troeye along with Anne-Laure Lion-Colin, Chief Finance, IT & Procurement Officer for Tractebel, and Vivek Sehgal, Chief Officer of BA Middle East & Asia, visited our offices in the Middle East to gain an overview of the business activities in the region.

Led by Thomas Palix, Regional Manager for Middle East, Philippe, and the delegation met with several major clients and partners in the region. Meetings were held with ENGIE, TRANSCO, NAWAH, Al Jomaih, KA-CARE, DGDA, EuroGroup and Dar Engineering to discuss current assignments and future opportunities in the Energy, Desalination, Infrastructure and Nuclear sectors.

Further meetings took place with the Belgium Ambassador in the United Arab Emirates and the French Ambassador in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to discuss countries’ specific challenges, areas of growth and development for Tractebel, and how Tractebel could contribute to initiatives launched by the Belgian and French Governments.

During the visit, a Town Hall was held during which Philipe, Vivek and Thomas met with our team members in Middle East and answered their questions about future opportunities, our strategy, and our vision for the future of Tractebel in the Middle East.

Philippe also took the opportunity during his visit to meet with Red Engineering and RIMO representatives to reinforce the collaboration between our different entities.

Philippe, Vivek, and the management team ended the week with a visit to the future office of ENGIE, Tractebel and other Group entities located at the Expo 2020 site (move planned for June 2023).
