The São Manoel Hydropower Plant is situated on the Teles Pires River, between the States of Mato Grosso and Pará, in Brazil. The plant has four generation units and has a total installed capacity of 700 MW*, enough energy to supply a population of 2.5 million people. In December 2017, it began the test operations of the first turbine.
