Lees verderStudies for setting up a pipeline network to transport captured CO2 emissions are currently underway in Wallonia, Belgium. Tractebel’s Gas-to-X teams from Belgium and India are working in close collaboration on feasibility and detailed design studies.
Belgium continues to participate in decarbonization goals and accelerating the energy transition. To that end, Fluxys is willing to set up a CO2 pipeline network in the Wallonia region, in the southern part of the country. The pipelines will evacuate captured CO2 emissions from – and for – industrial use. Client Fluxys has trusted the studies for this work to Tractebel. Our Belgian and Indian experts have teamed up to take this project from feasibility and detailed design studies to the next phase: construction.
The CO2 value chain continues its expansion across Europe
Two countries, one team: joining forces to execute from start to finish
Our studies team, composed of experts in pipeline engineering from Tractebel in Belgium and India, are working together to perform the studies related to the installation of the pipelines. This underscores our ability to bring together the right in-house experts to execute complex projects end-to-end. The project began in July 2023.
The installation of CO2 pipelines across Europe reflects our commitment to expanding the CO2 value chain and our determination to support our partners and their clients in their energy transition.
“The capture of CO2 creates opportunities for both existing and new industries. It boosts job creation, social and economic progress, and the promotion of innovation. Most importantly, replacing fossil fuels as an energy source – capturing the CO2 from and for industrial use, or transitioning towards e-fuels in particular – drives our purpose of engineering a carbon-neutral future.”
