On April 26, our Nuclear Innovation Lab was inaugurated in Belgium in the presence of 24 creative ideas owners who are shaking things up.

Innovation does not happen by chance, it must be nurtured and backed by adequate structure and resources. This is why Tractebel Nuclear Innovation Lab was created, to foster innovation by helping our nuclear experts from ideation up to product launch.

The Lab is strategically located at the green and inspiring site of ENGIE Laborelec, in the Belgian municipality of Linkebeek. Our teams have long been working in close collaboration on different nuclear assignments across the country, and they will now benefit from a shared environment where collective intelligence can be leveraged.

Innovation DNA is rooted in our decades-long history. The Nuclear Innovation Lab is there to catalyse that dynamic.

We have the duty to build a greener and healthier future for everyone. We must push the boundaries of our existing knowledge and embrace change to build the future of nuclear energy. Let’s make it happen!” said Denis Dumont, Tractebel General Manager Business Line Nuclear and co-sponsor of the Nuclear Innovation Lab together with Michael Marique, ENGIE Laborelec Managing Director.

The nuclear innovation team is currently accompanying 40 ideas at different maturity stages.
