Engineering Angles Podcast with Natalia Campos Delgado, Project Manager

04 mars 2025

On World Engineering Day 2025 dedicated to “Shaping our Sustainable Future through Engineering”, we caught up with Natalia Campos Delgado, Project Manager, who works on one of the largest engineering projects in Europe, the EDF (UK) Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant, which will cut carbon emissions by 9 million tonnes per year in the UK.

Listen to our latest Engineering Angles Podcast in which she explains what motivates Natalia to work on such a game-changing project.

"By building new nuclear reactors I’m directly contributing to both Tractebel’s vision and UK’s net-zero target. The Hinkley Point C project is set to provide low-carbon electricity to six million homes for around 60 years. In my generation, we haven’t had much of the chance to witness first-hand the construction of new nuclear power plants. I still pinch myself as I’m lucky to contribute to a project that will change people's lives by providing zero-carbon electricity," says Natalia.

Natalia answers questions such as: Why did you choose to study engineering? How did you end up working in the United Kingdom on one of the HPC project? What is the most important value for you at work? To what extent do you think your work is contributing to engineering a carbon-neutral future? What advice would you give to a future nuclear engineer?

Tune into “Engineering Angles," a podcast brought to you by Tractebel. Engineering a carbon-neutral future is our purpose. Our global community of 5,600 passionate experts delivers integrated solutions for sustainable energy and built environment projects. In "Engineering Angles," our engineers share their perspectives, experiences, insider views and vision for tomorrow.
