Belo Monte is located in the Xingu River, in the municipality of Vitória do Xingu, State of Pará, North Region of Brazil. With 11,233 MW, it will be the country’s second largest hydropower plant.
In operation since 2015, the power produced is transported through cables that Tractebel helped installing.
