Tractebel announces that Anne Harvengt stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer on May 1, 2024

Tractebel is pleased to announce the appointment of Anne Harvengt as Chief Executive Officer, effective May 1, 2024. Anne replaces Philippe Van Troeye, who is embarking on a new mission within the ENGIE Group’s Nuclear division in Belgium.

Anne is a longtime acquaintance of Tractebel, having worked for the company for eight years from 2013 to 2021. She began her career in audit at Deloitte in 1999, and joined the ENGIE Group in 2004 in the consolidation department of GDF SUEZ International in Brussels. In 2009, she moved to GDF SUEZ Asia Pacific in Bangkok, where she became a Senior Business Controller. Anne actively participated in the integration of international power assets in the region, and contributed to the de-risking policy in Pakistan. In 2013, she joined Tractebel in India as Chief Financial Officer and Ethics Officer. After two years, Anne took over the position of Managing Director to integrate Tractebel and Lahmeyer in India. Back to Belgium in 2016, Anne was appointed as Tractebel Executive Committee member responsible for Strategy, Communications, CSR, and M&A. Since 2022, Anne has been serving as the ENGIE Group’s Vice-President for the Europe Hub.

Anne Harvengt and Philippe Van Troeye

“I am delighted to return to Tractebel, a company that has already had a lasting impact on me, both personally and professionally. Deeply committed to Tractebel’s purpose of engineering a carbon-neutral future, I aim to support consolidating Tractebel’s position in the global energy and built environment markets, in collaboration with our teams, our clients and other stakeholders. Of equal importance is upholding our unwavering commitments to safety, ethical business practices, the fight against climate change, and diversity and inclusion. I am immeasurably proud to be Tractebel’s first female CEO. I hope that this achievement serves as inspiration to my female colleagues and to women interested in the engineering sector.

Last but far from least, thank you to Philippe Van Troeye for his invaluable contributions over the past three years. Thanks to his tireless efforts, I’m taking the reins of an organization that is more prepared for the adventure of the century: driving the energy transition. Philippe’s legacy will serve as a strong basis in the months and years to come.”

Anne Harvengt

“I am pleased to see Anne Harvengt take over the position of Tractebel CEO. With Anne’s experience and deep expertise, I am confident that the next chapter of the Tractebel story will be an inspirational one. I am thankful for my remarkable journey with Tractebel over the past three years. During this time, I have had the pleasure of working with and learning from our clients, partners and our own passionate experts in the energy and built environment fields. Their insights and expertise have enriched my understanding of our engineering industry, and I am grateful for the collaborative spirit that defines our company. I look forward to witnessing the continued success of Tractebel under Anne’s leadership.”
