As every year, Construsoft organized the BIM Awards in which companies within the Benelux can share their BIM projects with a broader audience. In early June, we were proud to announce that one of the projects we submitted won. Within the sports and recreation category, the 'new swimming pool Aartselaar' project not only won the award within this category, but also the public award. Last week, the Tractebel project team received the BIM Award physically from a representative of Construsoft.
BIM is becoming increasingly important within the construction industry. Therefore, the BIM Awards, organized by Construsoft, are an unique opportunity to showcase BIM projects to everyone. On the one hand, a jury evaluates the submitted projects on several criteria (e.g. innovative value of the project, impact on the environment, use of Tekla software, etc.) and on the other hand, a public award is given.
Last week the project team was proud to personally receive the BIM Award for the project 'new swimming pool Aartselaar'. Due to the current pandemic, this year's award was exceptionally personally granted at the Tractebel office in Ghent. The project won both the award within the category sport and recreation as well as the public award.
"Anticipating possible problems in the execution and being proactive in the design process is the way for Tractebel to guarantee a qualitative service for its customers. An award that endorses the required competencies is a great recognition of the work done and strengthens Tractebel's image as a reliable partner in the construction world", according to BIM modeler Leen Meul.
Tractebel will now automatically participate in the Tekla Globale BIM Award. A jury of 4 experts will select a winner from the different candidates at the end of September.
