Ready for take-off: renovation of runway in Ostend Airport

21 Dec 2020

The Urban Team of Tractebel Belgium is happy to announce that they have won the study for the renovation of runway 26-08 and the related equipment for the airport Ostend-Bruges.

In consortium with Deerns, AP&G and Planeground, all widely known for their expertise in airport infrastructure, Tractebel started the project for the renovation of the runway of Ostend-Bruges airport at the beginning of November 2020. The project runs over nine study phases in which Tractebel will be responsible for the variant studies, the design and the site follow-up as an option.

The complexity of this project lies mainly in the correct analysis of the different variant studies as well as the environment of the airport where various factors such as flight schedules and safety conditions need to be taken into account.

"For Tractebel, this project is the first renovation of a runway and this an unique opportunity to expand our know-how in airport infrastructure. Through the good collaboration with our partners and the exchange of expertise, we are convinced to bring this project to a succesful conclusion.", according to Project Manager Vincent Depry.
