The Residence for Seniors is an institution that accommodates 129 people, 75 of them in MRS beds. It consists of 4 wings, in 3 of which the dimensions of the rooms no longer meet current requirements. This project consists of the construction of an extension and the renovation of the 3 wings, which requires a review of the size of the rooms. The work will be carried out in several phases to maintain the number of existing beds.

The extension, with a total gross area of 3,390 m², will accommodate: a unit with 13 beds for disoriented people (on the ground floor), a unit with 22 beds and 4 beds for short stays (on the -1 floor), a unit with 19 beds and dressing rooms for staff (on the -2 floor) and a day care center for 15 persons (on the -3 floor).

The renovation also covers 3,390 m² and, upon completion of the works, will include the following: a unit of 15 beds, one of 11 and one of 14 (at +1), a unit of 15 beds, one of 12 and one of 14 (at +2), a unit of 13 beds (at +3).

For a total of 152 beds: 94 in the renovated section, including 28 in double rooms and 58 in the new wing.

The superstructure was designed for functional flexibility and acoustic quality between each floor. The floors are solid concrete slabs. These floors are on a grid of columns without drop beams to allow flexibility for the passage of techniques and for interior design. The building is designed on a grid of columns corresponding to that of the rooms, i.e. a mesh of 3.7mx5.8m. Horizontal wind stability is ensured by a central core. Two volumes are distinguished, each volume is braced by a core.

The design of the techniques has three main objectives: the comfort of people, the safety of people and the sustainability of the building.
