De Oude Dokken is a district in Ghent that has been undergoing major changes since 2004. Where the port industry used to be, a whole new district is now being developed.
As part of this development, the existing tramway line 4 will be extended by 1,500 m between Neuseplein and Dampoort.

The development of this project implies the prior execution of the redevelopment works in the area of Neuse Square, Voormuide and Muidelaan and the construction of the Verapaz Bridge.
The project also aims to make the traffic of vulnerable road users (cyclists and pedestrians) more pleasant and safer and to improve the public space along the new road.
It is divided into three spatially related sub-areas requiring integrated design: Neuseplein, Rebuild Voormuide and Dok Noord - Stepelplein - Dok Zuid.
