Are you ready for the future? Because construction on the Mumbai-Pune Hyperloop is hitting the field this December 2019.
Hyperloop is the next frontier in High Speed Mobility. It involves moving people and cargo in small wheel-less pods via a vacuum tube. The low pressure minimises friction and air resistance, greatly reducing the power needed. And because the pods travel in a tube, they’re not subject to shutdowns because of harsh weather like snow and polar vortexes.
Tractebel has been appointed by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA), nodal agency for the Hyperloop project, along with PwC and Legacy Law Offices (LLO) to provide financial and Transitory Advisory services. Our team in India is technical partner in the consortium.
The DP World andVirgin Hyperloop One consortium is one of the key player entities to develop this technology which could revolutionise the way people travel. The Pune-Mumbai corridor in western India has been selected as the first potential route to study its techno-commercial viability.
The distance of 125 km between Pune and Mumbai is expected to take only 25 minutes through Hyperloop technology. In addition to the speed, the system offers advantages in being on-demand, direct and autonomous with 100% electrical power and zero emissions.
Tractebel’s mission encompasses technical review of alignment and station location and layouts, assessment of tractions, rolling stock and signaling systems, operational plan and cost estimates, integration with other modes and bid process management.
We are proud to be associated with this cutting-edge technology for High Speed Mobility.
