As gold sponsor Tractebel is deeply involved  in the organisation of the European Nuclear Young Generation Forum (ENYGF) 2019.  This Forum brings together students and young professionals from across the European nuclear industry. It was last held in Manchester in 2017, with over 350 delegates attending from 27 different countries.  Now it is Ghent's turn.

The theme for ENYGF 2019 is "Nuclear for health - from half lives to better lives". The main focus will be the role of nuclear for social and economic development, in particular on the medical field.

The week-long programme will include expert speakers, interactive workshops and varied technical tours to sites around Ghent.  It will be rounded off with extensive networking opportunities through formal and informal social and cultural events.

Our colleague Philippe DAMHAUT, Product Manager Medical Applications, will hold a presentation on June 24 at 11 am. He will present the evolution in the field of nuclear medicine over the last decades from different perspectives such as regulations, research, patient healthcare, but also the evolution of the norms and regulations. His speech will go beyond the application of the isotopes, and include the limits the transportation imposes both on the road and once arrived in the hospital. The different incentives that exist for these evolutions will be highlighted. Don’t miss out on this lecture; it will link the many subjects discussed at the conference!

Philippe Damhaut holds a Master Degree and a PhD in Chemistry and has more than 25 years of professional experience in the medical isotope business. Starting his career at the Biomedical Cyclotron Unit of the Erasmus Hospital, he later on joined MDS Nordion and held different top management positions in charge of radiochemicals and radiopharmaceuticals production, R&D activities, new production facility development projects and business development. More recently Philippe held the position of Fleurus Site Manager within ONDRAF/NIRAS, in charge of nuclear facility cleaning and dismantling project.
