A climate-friendly energy supply presents the world with major challenges. These include future-oriented, integrated solutions for power supply systems. Together with the Renewable Energy Academy (RENAC), Tractebel Germany offers training in this field. These deal with the topic of “Sustainable, advanced power system planning with co-benefits and high share of variable renewables”. They also deal with social and environmental benefits. The program includes online and on-site training. Energy utilities, ministries and local parties in some emerging markets are actively taking advantage of the opportunity for training.
Tractebel's two-part training series is dedicated to a complex subject area: in the course of the energy revolution, the energy market and the roles of the players are changing. Decision-making processes and energy supply planning are also changing. Sustainable solutions are more in demand than ever. The different preferences of stakeholders must be taken into account in planning processes. The quantity and technological diversity of decentralised energy generation plants is increasing. New planning methods and models can provide vital assistance in this context.
Two-part offer
For the first part, our energy experts developed an online training course that is accessible via RENAC's online platform. This is followed in the second part by an on-site training course. So far, these courses have already been run successfully in Vietnam, India, Turkey and South Africa. The participants learned new methods and models for planning power supply systems based on international models. Practical exercises showed the different approaches for the respective country’s specific conditions. Tractebel trainers, Dr. Atom Mirakyan and Dr. Stefan Drenkard, passed on their specific know-how and provided individual planning solutions for each country.
