Nuclear days 2019 in India

29 Oct 2019

Tractebel took part to the nuclear roadshow organised by Business France with EDF from 21st to 23th October 2019 in India.

India has confirmed new nuclear powerplant projects in 2017 to face the need to rapidly increase its electricity production capacity (+ 112% between 2015 and 2035) in order to supply its industry with clean energy. In this framework, Tractebel’s nuclear experts from France took part to the Nuclear days 2019 in India, from 21 to 23 October, and promoted our expertise regarding the nuclear sector and in particular the EPR technology.

Tractebel is a key player in the nuclear sector

Nuclear power is an essential source of zero-carbon energy, which makes it an important area of expertise for Tractebel. We have been involved in several nuclear power plants design studies, including the first nuclear reactor in France and, more recently, the EPR Hinkley Point C in the United Kingdom, as well as a long partnership with EDF.

Our French team has also been providing high-level nuclear trainings to our Indian team so they can be ready to support nuclear new build programs in India, notably the EPR Jaitapur project.
